We have had increasing registration to the forum. Sound off and let us know where you’re from and what you want in a lighting control system. CrossLight’s central goal is to build a community to steer the future of lighting control, so let us know where you’re from, and how you use light.

I’ll start as the founder of CrossLight: I’m a gaffer who works mostly in commercials and film. The most known production I’ve worked on?

Ok story time – I lit the overhead shot of the ricin going into tea in the penultimate episode of breaking bad. This is absolutely a fluke, I went to New Mexico for a one day job, which turned into 6 or 7 months. They were slammed with work so I flew from Alaska and the moment I landed I had 5 missed calls from best boys looking for hands.

I was just a third electrician on the last 2 episodes of BrBa, with the brilliant Steve Litecky as gaffer. I was put on a splinter crew either by Steve, or Best Boy Electric Sean Mallon sent me off with one grip and one camera operator to film a simple shot of tea being stirred. I was not current on the show by 2 seasons, and was actively trying to avoid spoilers. So the to me it was just a shot of tea with sugar being poured in.

So…what do you do with light, and what do you want to do with light?
